Toyota Motor Corp is recalling 270,000 vehicles worldwide to fix those faulty engines. Toyota has received many complaints over faulty engines in Japan. The European Commission set new rules for car repairs and maintenance which will come in to effect from 01/06/2010.
The EU ordered the car makers and authorized dealers to share their vehicle's technical data with private repair shops and spare parts sellers. As this will healthy competition for maintenance services. Also they expect this rule will reduce the repair and distribution costs very much.
Japanese cars sales go up.
This year 2010 seems to be good for Japanese car makers as Toyota says that their export has been doubled in this year. While the other car makers, Nissan, Mazda and Mitsubishi too are happy with their production increase and export increase. Toyota car sales are picking up this year in the U.S.A as per the media reports.
Sri Lanka Reduces Vehicle import Tax.
As the economy is recovering in Sri Lanka in this year 2010, the Sri Lanka Government has made a sudden tax cut on the vehicle import by 50%. So the new prices of the luxury cars may go down by 16 million rupees and the medium size cars by 10 million and the small cars may go down by 4 million rupees.

Tesla Motors and Toyota joined together to make electric cars for the market in California
Both companies had accepted their conditions and the State rules to manufactor Toyota's electric cars for the consumers from the Tesla Motors California plant. The electric car project is expected to be announced on Thursday at a press conference in Palo Alto, Calif. Tesla Motors is currently producing electric sports cars with the body of the Lotus model.

Electric vehicles are the future cars for the Japan roads, that's what most of the Japanese car companies are thinking. The Japan Government is too heavily subsidy the electric cars. Actually the Japanese Government who subsidy this cars don't have a future plan whether they will continue to support them for long time or not.
This week the Nissan Motor Company announced that they will sell their latest Leaf electric car less the price of 3 million yen. It means that a customer can buy the Leaf electric car for the price of 2.99 million yen along with government's subsidy payment.
But for the Mitsubishi Motors this news came as a big shock as they are ready on the door step to sale their much talked i-MiEV electric cars. Now the price of the i-MiEV with the subsidy is around 2.84 million yen. That is 150, 000 yen less than the Nissan's electric car Leafs.

Jaguar forecasts sales increase
British iconic car maker Jaguar expects China to be its third-biggest market in the next few years after its sales accelerated last year. Sales of the auto maker rose 34 percent to 1,800 vehicles in China last year, said Christopher Brown, managing director of Jaguar China.
