In the USA General Motors recalled nearly 290,000 Chevrolet Cruze compact sedans to correct the power assist of the brakes which can fail due to a faulty switch. 2011 and 2012 model years which are equipped with the 1.4-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with the six-speed automatic were recalled.

According to the company around 27 low speed crashes occurred and no injuries were reported related to the brake problem.
