Mazda MX-5 achieves sports car production record
Chrysler is recalling the 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007 Jeep Liberty SUV models. This is to replace the lower control arms in the rear suspensions of the Liberty models as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has warned that this part may get rusted due to the salt put on the roads during the winter periods.
Although the Chrysler says it knows of no crashes or injuries from the lower control arm problem. Most of the recalled vehicles are from the stated where salt is used to clear ice and snow from the roads. The total number of vehicles affected by this problem may number nearly to 347,000.
The company said that it will inspect those affected parts and will replace them free of charge if it is necessary. Most of the vehicles were built by July 3, 2003 through June 29, 2007 are sees to be affected.
According to Chrysler they are going to notify more number of Jeep Liberty owners by the end of June 2011 to bring their vehicles for inspection.
