Electric Cars - Will they do better in 2012?
Electric cars were expected to penetrate the car industry in the year 2011. But it didn't do better in the world wide sales as expected by industrial analysts. The main reason may its high price when compared to the fuel ones. May be people are still not ready to accept it in their lives as plenty of people see EV as a future car and not ready to test run it because of the unexpected fires and troubles.
The most popular models EV like Nissan's Leaf and GM's Chevrolet Volt were expected to boost the EV car sales first in their local market didn't had a good sales. May be the American economy and Japan's earthquake did marred the EV sales and they couldn't reach their EV selling target.
But all of the EV makers through out the world expect to have good sales in this year 2012 as many countries are emerging from their troubled economy and normal car sales did pick up in the last quarter of the year 2011. So there is wild expectations that the much modification and technology management can make the EV to have good sales in this year 2012 as it will provide safety, rate of run between charges along with small price cut.
GM, Nissan, Toyota, Renault, BMW, Daimler and other makers of electric or plug-in hybrid cars are doing their best to market safe and comfortable models to be on the road to attract more buyers in the north America, Japan and EU.
All of them expect the people will turn to their electric models to avoid the high fuel prices and keep the globe greener. On the other hand Industry Analyst are not looking them as to be prosperous in this decade.
